BECOMING A MEMBER
Banksia Gardens Community Centre offers membership to all Centre participants and to those who live, work or study within the local areas. Membership to Banksia Gardens Association Inc. is just $1.00 per year. Currently Banksia Gardens has several hundred members.
Your entitlements as a member include:
- - Participation in community meetings and forums.
- - Personal invitations to the Centre's special events.
- - The right to nominate and elect the Committee of Management.
- - Access to information about the Centre's programs: newsletters, brochures, mail-outs, etc.
- - Voting rights.
If you are interested in becoming a member, simply complete a membership form and return it with your payment of only $1.00 and become a member now! Forms are available at Centre office, otherwise feel free to contact us by email or telephone and we will send you one.
ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING
Banksia Gardens Community Centre celebrated its Annual General Meeting on Wednesday 9th September 2009 at 6:00pm. Presentations were given by guest speakers Cansu Kilicaslan and John Cunneen in both English and Turkish on human rights education in Hume, the Banksia Gardens Human Rights Education Project and the Hume City Council and Victorian State Government Bill of Rights. It was a great celebration of everthing that happened at Banksia Gardens in 2008/2009 and everyone is looking forward to a productive 2009/2010 period.
