Introduction to Childcare CH044/45

This award-winning short course is a great way to decide whether childcare is going to be your career, all ages welcome. Study in our fantastic new training facility with a direct pathway into our Certificate III in Children's Services course here at Banksia Gardens. This pre-accredited course outlines the early childhood profession, employment opportunities and current policies and procedures. It introduces participants to the professional nature of working with children, families and the community.

Subjects covered are Introduction and Regulations, Development, Occupational Health and Safety, Nutrition, Play, Behaviour Management, Program Planning, Communication, Further Training and Qualifications.

Certificate III in Children's Services CHC30708

Provided by Victoria University, this course prepares students to plan activities, provide care for children and develop the necessary skills and knowledge about early childhood development. On completion students will be qualified Children's Services Workers. This industry based course is highly regarded within the children's services sector and runs for 9 months part-time including a placement at a Childcare Centre. Download flyer here

Diploma of Children's Services CHC50908

This course is designed for individuals who have previously completed a Certificate III in Children's Services and are currently working in childcare. This course is for workers who are responsible for developing and evaluating programs and who have responsibility for the supervision of other staff and volunteers. It is the highest qualification required at Director / Service Manager level. On completion, students will be qualified Children's Services Workers. This industry based course is highly regarded within the children's services sector and runs for 2 years part-time including a placement at a Childcare Centre. Download flyer here

Advanced Diploma of Children's Services CHC60208

This course Banksia Gardens is pleased and excited to announce that for the first time we are offering, in conjunction with Victoria University, the Advanced Diploma of Children's Services course in 2012. The course is for one year part-time and is structured for students to predominantly study online with minimal contact required at Banksia Gardens Community Centre.

This qualification is for children's services workers who may operate at an advanced level in early childhood education and care, providing specialist services, act as a resource for other workers, provide practice supervision of staff and volunteers, work intensively with clients and work with clients with complex needs.
