Welcome to Banksia Gardens Community Centre!
Banksia Gardens Community Centre is one of approximately 370 Neighbourhood Houses in Victoria. Our organisation is located in close proximity to the Banksia Gardens public housing estate in Broadmeadows, in the City of Hume.
As a neighbourhood house and a Learn Local provider, Banksia Gardens has a strong focus on community education and lifelong learning. Like many other neighbourhood houses, we are also home to a great diversity of groups and associations who gather for different purposes, and we act as a place of support in our local neighbourhood. Importantly, in an area of significant disadvantage, we are committed to social justice and to community development, but also to economic participation, and for that we try to maintain an innovative and dynamic entrepreneurial attitude.

Welcome to Semester 1 2012 and to our new website! While we think you will all enjoy this fantastic new site, please have a bit of patience as we transfer all the information to the new site, which may take a couple of weeks.
Banksia Gardens achieved a huge amount in 2011 and was nominated for various awards, including Outstanding Organisation Category in the Learn Local Awards. Banksia Gardens has continued to grow its classes, its programs and of course its staff. We are pleased to announced the Community Connections Project, headed up by Nick Mac Hale, has been refunded in 2012 and we thank DHS (Office of Housing).
On 6th March 2012 Banksia Gardens will host an International Women's Day event in partnership with Tullamarine Neighbourhood House, Attwood Community House,Broadmeadows Womens's House Meadow Heights Learning Shop and Dallas Neighbourhood House. The 'Inspiring Futures' event will showcase the many wonderful achievements of young girls in schools in our local area. For further information contact Banksia Gardens.
